We had a similar issue--we had ordered a van taxi and when it was late and I called to see where it might be, I was asked if I really needed a van. Yes, that's why I specifically booked one!

It's amazing (to me) that you are such similar sizes. I have a photo of Al riding my Co-Motion to test the gears and it's hilarious. He's almost a foot taller than me.

I have the same gearing and love it, though I sometimes think about an even bigger cassette...

Bike touring challenges your creativity. The day Anne and I wanted to ride the Aspin and Tourmalet return in one day was a bit too far so we found a solution...shuttle car to the top of the Aspin and away we go. 20 Euro tip...problem solved!

That's for sure. When she suggested the lift up there, I didn't fight back about it like I usually would. Hence, the smile. For once, I was flexible. Ha ha.

Believe it or not, most of my photos are being taken on my Google phone. The photos turn out incredible.

The big difference for me is finding that I have more time and comfort to put some effort into my journal this trip.
