I recognized it from your last snake encounter. I learned from your journal that it was venomous, so I paid respects by scooting it along with my bike tire. So. Thanks for your informative writing.

What an awesome day! We’ve never ridden this route but either pass looks astonishing. Brilliant idea to taxi the ballast forward.

Wow! Great find. Viper is berus (European adder or viper), I think. Also, based on coloration it’s probably a goal - the gals are brown, the guys gray. I was surprised to see that they can be found up to 3,000 meters in the Swiss Alps.

Hi Bill. I know and remember you well. Your research skills are well known and very much appreciated in the cycle blog world. An explosives safety manager? I assume plant identification is much less stressful.

Hi Bob. Thanks for writing. You've got a great point there. Hope you get back to Italy sooner rather than later. Glad you enjoy the photos.

Your photos have me pining for a return to Italia. I'm always torn between places that do and don't provide breakfast. If a place doesn't that means I have room in my stomach to check out a local pasticceria.

I'm no expert by any means. Just an old retired Explosives Safety Manager that never really got to use the Zoology degree. Internet searching is interesting... if only I could remember the stuff I look up.

Always glad when there is another set of eyes looking.

Cheers, Bill. Definitely a five petaled flower!

That makes sense. My bladder probably resembles this little flower the older I get.

Thanks again, Bill. I'll definitely remember this one. Such a pretty little flower.

Hey Hannah. Thanks for the comment. Looks like you'll have to compete with the infamous Bill Shaneyfelt for identifying the flora, insects and fauna in all of the cycling journals. LOL!

Well. We've got another few days until we're done with the Dolomites. We'll keep em' coming!
