2 years agoHey Scott, thanks! Seems like everything's good. Just being cautious. How else am I going to get to your age and still do what you do, eh?
2 years agoThanks for the update on the Lyme disease concern. I’ve been wondering about it but didn’t want to ask.
2 years agoI see you've narrowed it down, then.😉
2 years agoProbably Amalfi coast and Puglia, maybe Dolomites, possibly more Spain, haven’t been to France for awhile 🤔🤔
2 years agoHi David. Thanks for following along Now that the adventure is over, I'm back to reading journals for inspiration. Where's next for you guys?
2 years agoMy research came up with Scarce Swallowtail too. Thank Bill.
2 years agoThanks for your journal. I have enjoyed following along and dreaming about future bike travels. Have a good trip home. It’s been pretty warm here too.

Zebra swallowtail, we called them in my West Virginia childhood.
2 years agoGood for you. Early retirement sounds kinda nice 😉
2 years agoBeing able to travel outside the summer months was what prompted me to take early retirement. Had I known there was a pandemic coming, I probably would have just taken a term's leave (for French Fling) and worked for one or two more years.
2 years agoIt's like I can see the heat haze in this photo!
2 years agoHi Suzanne. I didn't want to 'name drop' you in the journal without your permission. Thanks for the advice. Staying away from riding along the lake was the safe choice.

Good idea to be cautious. And a tip: our son acquired a tick hitch hiker on a day hike here. He didn’t realize it until in the shower. His wife carefully removed it with tweezers after googling the technique. Into a jar it went and off to LifeLabs where they checked it and it was Lyme disease free. I had no idea they could do that. It was a great relief to us all!! So no smashing the next one to smithereens hehe.
