They were created by an engineer who couldn’t see the lines in inclement weather. Like this “ safety feature”, they are a bane, alike the corners of streets “ improved” for safer crossing for disabled people.
At least it’s not a post as in the dead center of a bike trail🫣

Never knew what they were called before. They do not seem to deter the cars too much but terrify us, since our small wheels tend to try to topple sideways going over them. We mostly dismount and walk the bikes across.

It happens everywhere here. There are huge garbage dumps just beyond the limits of most villages. It is so sad and disturbing every time we see one.

That is really disturbing he is actually throwing his trash in this lush green space. For shame!

Oh! A San Francisco 49ers Fan…Wonder if he’s ever been to a game at Kezar? Doubt it..He’s probably not old enough to know about that stadium! At least the year 1946 is accurate for when play began…at Kezar..and they won their first home game..:)

Since we are also seriously not Wonder Bread fans it would need to be an almighty big pinch for Bimbo to work for us.

I think you gave it! Also known as the Flame Tree, grows all over the world, large hard pods, spreading growth habit, check, check, check. Thanks for following this up. Well done.

Hah! Found it: Royal poinciana: https://www.backyardnature.net/yucatan/101/royal_p.htm

Pods are about two feet long. Looks like an amazing tree to see when it’s in blooom.
