Andrea Brown commented on Day L9: Protests Over Groceries

The situation is really hitting the nightly news here, Steve. That doesn't help anything for you, but the world is watching (or at least our part of the world).

Amazing! I think you have a bestseller with these journal entries.

Fit Steve commented on Day L8: Control Your Soul's Desire for Freedom

Thanks guys, there's some reasonable evidence this thing is going to last at least a month, probably until end of May

Riveting reporting, Steve. Thanks so much, and good luck.

Thanks Steve for your postings. There's some coverage of the Shanghai lockdown in The Guardian (and other western news outlets), but it's so valuable to get your first-hand reports. Keep on keeping on, and hopefully the situation will ease soon.

Bob Distelberg commented on Day L7: Man Punished for Jogging

So I think that 5:47 is per km, which would make his per mile pace around 9:20 or so. Still impressive for 60+, speaking as a 60+ person who still tries to run a little. Thanks for sharing these stories. Tough to imagine what you're going through as most of us here in the US are starting to feel like life is returning to normal.

How horrendous! Thank you for keeping the rest of us up to date. I really understand how you feel about your workouts. I’ve been extremely fortunate to be able to bicycle and hike during Covid while minimizing exposure.

Yeah I know that's exactly how it feels. There's no telling what's going to happen next, we just try to survive day-by-day

Honestly, Steve. It's like you are writing a screenplay for an apocalyptic movie. I'm glad you're documenting this but it's like slow-motion horror.

Yes in fact that's exactly correct what you're describing. These centers were built for mild and asymptomatic cases (the vast majority) to free up hospital space

That quarantine centre does not seems to feature oxygen, IV, or even boxes of tissues. Does that mean the inmates are all more or less asymptomatic and the actually sick ones have gone to real hospitals?

Thanks, but it ended up being the correct decision! Refer to the latest update

Impressive, creating a suspenseful drama out of taking out the garbage.
