I did check Etsy for stuffed Bigfoot’s. There’s a coffee shop that has a really cute mascot, who looks fluffy and fun. It’s in Frisco? I think. I forgot to go there.
I’ve got a Bigfoot thing going on. It’s a harmless diversion!
Did you check and see if they sell those? Perfect for the house.

3 years agoScott,
Thanks for checking in on me. The only ride this trip that was a thigh burner was a short, steep section on Vail Pass. That is the one I didn't want to walk so people wouldn't think recumbents couldn't climb. Other than that, the grades have all been reasonable, just long. Hoosier Pass wasn't difficult from a leg standpoint, it was the mental stress of being constantly on alert for cars.
Cottonwood was long, but rewarding.
If your schedule should work out - you are extremely welcome to join me next fall - same time, some different locations, hopefully same good weather!
Kelly
Spoon,
I've already routed out a couple of options for next fall. One is longer and goes through Gunnison instead of over dirt Kebler. But, I'm thinking that probably a seven day tour would be more appropriate from the stand point of having luck with the weather. I've thought several times this tour how miserable I would have been to be riding XXX road in the rain/snow.
This has indeed been a memorable/perfect trip from many standpoints. There were several days I think you would have enjoyed. You definitely would like Frisco and Crested Butte and all of the lovelies to look at - especially CB.
Kelly
Kelly,
you can hang up your cleats after this one!

Wow. What a great time to be up there.
3 years agoAwesome ride, Kelly! Looks like a hard but beautiful climb, one I’d like to do someday.
3 years agoThank you! I had a gin and tonic in your honor in Frisco. The gin was made in Breckenridge.

3 years agoForget to fuel? How does that happen?
This trip we have been eating three full meals a day. I have been carrying snacks the entire trip that are getting a little road weary. I can tell that my usual oatmeal doesn't provide as many riding miles as eggs and meat.
Kelly
Buddy,
I also enjoy reading other people's perspectives on routes I've done. I believe I will go back and read your thoughts right now!
Kelly
This one is particularly good, imo
