No worse a person than it makes me for taking pleasure in being sweetly poisonous to the police officer who almost certainly isn't the one who came up with the idea.
5 years agoDoes it make me a bad person that I really enjoy these stories of Marian's battle against the NFA forces of darkness and ignorance?
5 years agoGo get 'em! Hoist them on their own petard!!! Well done!!
5 years agoWOW!!
5 years agoMy Chinese friends have come up with various answers (most of which fall under RPS often being a drinking game) for why this is the case but no one can come up with a good reason for specifically singling it out among all the other potentially loud things you might do in a hotel room.
5 years agoNow I will always think hard before playing Rock -Paper -Scissors in any hotel anywhere.
5 years agoNo, I hadn't, but that's kind of brilliant. My brake hoods would still be on the low side of where they should be but the flats of the drops would now be the flats of the antidrops.
5 years agoThank you for the Rock, Paper, Scissors rule! I will ponder its significance for days, I’m sure. 😆
5 years agoHave you considered flipping the bars so the "drops" are up? I suspect cable length would be the same and the bar tape would have to be re-wrapped, but it would give you more "height". The locals might be scandalized by the reversed bars, but you would be more comfortable.
5 years agoI haven't really ridden it very much so far owing to the issue with handlebar height.. Really only got the handlebars where they were supposed to be on Tuesday and then I packed the bike on Wednesday.
It seems good and solid but, considering some of the brands this factory OEMs for, it certainly ought to be.
I'm absolutely in love with the couplers.
Marian: How have you liked the titanium frame? Looks like it might have been constructed out of large enough diameter material so as not to be too flexible. Also, as to your comment about leaving"the other site", I have not really looked at it since I left in 2008 or 2009. Not surprised folks are leaving. Paul Krieg

5 years agoTo get lower gears you could use a smaller chain ring.
Plug some chain ring sizes into Sheldon's calculator.
I am a big fan of IGHs and have two Rohloff equipped bikes.
