Uh oh, I think we have to go through Mineral Point on our trip! I love pasties! When we've toured in the UP, we always did the "find the best pasty of the trip" exploration. I remember one that was made with bison that was really good.

That's a good one. It seems Twain had a quip for every subject and every occasion.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure most people in every country talk about the weather more than any other topic. I suppose that's because weather is something that happens every single day and it's always different. I think Wilde knew he was calling EVERYBODY unimaginative.

I usually do pretty well in heat and humidity. In this case, the temperatures went from the 40's to the 90's in a matter of days. It was kind of a shock to the system.

I had never seen it until yesterday. It was good stuff. I drink milk every day.

Or Mark Twain: Everyone talks about the weather, but nobody does anything about it.

Not one of his best! It's just conversational filler but it opens up other topics. Without talking about the weather most British people would only use their voices about once a week.

I’m disappointed you’re not going to complain about the heat anymore so that I can! I’d like the temperature to always be between 55 and 70 with mild winds and no rain!

It must have been really bad for you to complain! I’m dreading when it gets too hot here! Take care!

I've not seen Dean's milk since I lived in Savanna, IL! On the MS River 20 miles south of Wisconsin.

No, I've never tried that "delicacy," but it sure sounds Wisconsonian. I assume the curds are melted on top of the fries.

Bill, I think I'll pass on the cheese bread. But I will try to find that PBS documentary on-line.

Thanks for the word. Like you, I never really knew the meaning of "piebald," but now it all makes sense. The black & white spotted cow is the magpie of the bovine world.

Good pun.

Hi,
Beer, cheese, and crackers, one of my favorite snacks when I was a post doc in Madison. Have you tried cheese curds on French fries?

Cheers,

Keith
