Well done, and with an injury, too!
2 years agoAmber, I am so impressed with your fortitude and attitude--WOW-- such a grand and memorable adventure! Really sad to read about your foot injury, but it doesn't seem to have slowed you down. Enjoy the finale, you earned it!
2 years agoGreat job! Steady climbs are tough but I think the rolling climbs along the coast are harder! Fortunately, I have very low gears.

2 years agoSo sorry about your injury, I’m glad you were able to ride!
2 years agoThanks, Rich!
2 years agoThanks, Genny. Yes, it was quite warm inland. And my foot appears to prefer my cycling shoe (less pain with more compression?), so I think I’ll do okay.
2 years agoThanks, Scott. The foot’s improving, so I decided to tackle the climb. I’ll write about it tonight if I have cell service.
2 years agoI am just catching up on your journal and it is bringing back memories of our ride down this section on the coast. After riding in cool fog for days, going inland through the Avenue was a heat-shock, but we enjoyed the swimming hole at Standish Hickey before we were eaten by mosquitoes there.
I hope your foot heals quickly and doesn't bother you too much on the hill south of Leggett.
You're tough! Good job continuing on in the face of adversity! I hope it heals quickly.
2 years agoI’m so sorry about your injury, Amber. Hopefully it heals well and quickly. And with the climb over Leggett Pass ahead of you! Maybe the sag wagon could drop you off at the summit so you can glide down to Westport.

2 years agoCute - bet that felt luxurious!
2 years agoNice that you had a pal, Bernice, to join you on your exploration today. Do you have cycling shoes you walk in or take along an extra pair? As usual, looks like you made the most of your day!
