I bet you were relieved to be on a quiet road.
2 years agoSo glad you survived the interstate and had a nice end to the day. I did an ACA tour in Southern California and they put us on the freeway twice - the I8 east of Alpine wasn’t too bad as there was little traffic, but the I10 west of Palm Springs was terrifying. Similar to your experience, the short stretch included a rest area with entering/exiting traffic and lots of big trucks and road debris. We also had 30-40 mph headwinds/crosswinds. Some of the group, including me, ended up calling Uber/Lyft or found a van to get through some of the worst sections. Not a fun day.
2 years agoMe too! It was a nice surprise.
2 years agoThanks, Rachael. Yes, we toured in Oregon this last summer and saw so many homeless camps - especially around Portland and Eugene. It’s a very real problem.
2 years agoSorry you had so much traffic! It’s so sad about the homeless camps! Portland, Oregon has a terrible problem with this and we are dreading going back even though it’s not for very long.
