Jullie passen nog in de shirts van 9 jaar geleden!
1 year agoIk heb jouw route gezien - lijk heel mooi in de bergen. Wij gaan langs de kust via Budva en Kotor dan de Ciro trail naar Mostar. Ik ben een beetje bang voor bergen totdat we een beetje meer hebben gefietst. Ben benieuwd hoe het gaat met een kind en alle spullen.
1 year agoGoede reis! Wij komen maandag ochtend in Durres aan en gaan naar Nederland fietsen, waarschijnlijk via Ohrid, Sarajevo en Zagreb.
1 year agoI love how the photos you post of Tobias show us his personality and vitality even though you smartly don’t show his face. Well done.
1 year agoSo Tobias is the chief tire pressure tester again I see.
1 year agoIt could be. After all, art is interpretive.
1 year agoIt looks a nightmare!... hopefully you're not too stressed out. Once you're on the road it'll soon be history.
1 year agoJust a few minutes before I read this entry I was listening to the latest Rick Steves podcast/radio program. The last guest, mentioned a Chinese maxim that translates roughly "men plan, God laughs". Maybe that's why both Churchill and Eisenhower both talked about plans being worthless but the process of planning is essential. Sounds like you've set your priorities for what you'd like to do and what limitations there might be so you have your guide for making decisions when plans go awry. Looking forward to reading how your adventure unfolds.
1 year agoThanks Scott, yes I hope I can keep it up too. I'm surprised at how many details of our last trip had faded, even though it was only 6 years ago. Tobias is still to young to form actual memories, so it will be good for him to see later.
1 year agoYes, I'm looking forward to it, too! It sounds like a great adventure.
1 year agoThis looks like such a wonderful adventure, one I really look forward to following along with. And congratulations on deciding to maintain a journal! It takes a lot of time and persistence, but I can’t imagine you’ll regret it when you look back at the many details you’d have forgotten otherwise. It’s a nice gift to Tobias too. When he’s old enough to read this and understand what a unique experience he began life with, he’ll be amazed at what a lucky boy he is.
1 year agoLooking forward to this!

A favourite memory, when our then 8 year old insisted on an entire barbeque chicken with sides for supper after a 100 km day in the Canadian Rockies. He ate it all, and the wait staff were so impressed they gave it to us free.
