I worked in Germany in 2019 and crossed this ferry almost every weekend from June-December! My favorite route was to ride my bike from Weisbaden and cross the bridge at Mainz, then go upriver and take this ferry across - then stop at a bakery in Rudesheim for a break, then continue back down the river to Weisbaden. Occasionally I would cycle as far as St. Goar before returning. It never got old, each time I noticed something new. Thanks for posting these pictures, it's bringing back many good memories.
2 years agoI don't think I actually remember the house, but just now I was reading to Dodie from "Grampies Track the Tortes", and you switched me over to "By the Books" for a bit. Although I may not remember the house, the story of licking the jam from the knife definitely rings a bell. Seven years later, I can report no progress in improving manners!
3 years agoI think I may have stayed the exact same place when I rode the Enns a few years ago. That courtyard looks familiar.
