I think being by yourself, you will definitely get help from others! Especially being a women. The one time we have the advantage!

You are going to have such a wonderful trip and I know there will be help readily available when you need it. When I was in France with a friend we were boarding a train and someone behind me lifted my suitcase, that I had in hand behind me, to assist getting it on the train with me. I had not asked for help but the lighter suitcase felt so fine!! I will be so happy for you and will read every word and ogle over every photo — enviously ;’-).

Good luck, but I can’t imagine you’ll have trouble coaxing someone into giving you a hand. Just bat your pretty eyelashes at the nearest hunk and look helpless.

I just saw that Gutach is farther south than our route takes us. Next time.

I remembered you love the Black Forest. I'll have to check the route and see if we are near Gutach.
I can tell, you are going to be a very spritely "old lady" when the time comes.

I'm already excited to read this! We love the Black Forest. There is a fantastic Sommerrodelbahn in Gutach which we all love and would heartily recommend for 'old ladies'. *
