3 weeks agoThis post really brightened my day, here in the Northern Hemisphere, with Winter coming on. We have encountered people like Mitch occasionally in our travels, and they give a big boost to our outlook on humanity. You were lucky to run into this one!

1 month agoThis post makes me envious. Rachael and I were well into planning a tour of SA about a decade ago, and the plan included this pass. It won’t happen for us now, but we’ll enjoy following along.

1 month agoThanks for the comment. We actually hadn't looked it up. Looking at your link and through a neat little resource at the guest house we are staying we think it might be an Angulated tortoise. Easier to see in our other photos we didn't post.
I really hope we get to see a Leopard Tortoise though.
