I think that might not have been wise. He’d likely scratch yours also. What a great sighting!
2 years agoThat’s great!
2 years agoNice! A rare happening!
2 years agoIt wasn't as big as I expected. If it had held still, I could have given it a little scratch behind the ears!

It is cold in British Columbia, not where you are!! These things are all relative of course. The folks in Alberta know we don’t get real cold. It is currently -28 C in Calgary 🥶. A balmy -32 C in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Still we are setting records here and the hummingbird feeders are freezing solid, so must be regularly brought in. It was -9 C overnight. Snow too. We usually don’t like it when the rest of the country misplaces their snow, but this year it arrived December 25th, so that was lovely timing. Enjoying your blogs very much.
2 years agoYou don't want any low life riding away with it while you are otherwise occupied!
2 years agoHey!! I didn’t ignore Kelly at all. If anything, it was the other way around. I was the one that spotted and shouted out to her while she steamed past, paying no attention to me because I wasn’t on a recumbent or trike. On behalf of the Diamond-frame riders of the world, I’m offended that she doesn’t notice us.
2 years agoIt was cold! Congrats on getting your miles in anyway. And let us know if Jacinto makes it back - we’re getting worried about him.
2 years agoI have no idea what is up with the photo problem. That one day, nothing will load. Even if I try them one day at a time. I was suspecting my old phone, but today I had no trouble . . . who knows?
I'm going to feel really bad if that's the last time I see Scott while we are all in town. I've run into them twice by accident, and they've seen Jacinto once. Pretty amazing, for how big of a place Tucson is!

Spoon,
I just talked to Oren - it's in the 70's in Arkansas. We are in the wrong state!
I took a hot, hot shower and am now on the couch with my coat and a doubled up blanket. I should have stopped for my jacket, but I kept thinking if I pedaled faster, I'd warm up!
Good for you guys on powering through. I no longer like riding in the cold. Those days are gone!

Hi Lucky. It was 45 degrees here in KC today, with strong Nwesterly winds. Four of us (spoon, Nellie, Russ and Jim) braved the tough conditions and rode our 30 miles anyway. You ain’t freezing!!!!

I hope you figure out that picture uploading problem. And how about that Scott Anderson totally ignoring you? What a snob! (I feel I can say that because Scott and I trade on-line barbs quite often. Plus, I've met him and Rocky a couple times and they are cool people.)
2 years agoHow many miles was Jacinto's route? We agree that the loop through Rancho Vistoso/Sun City is very nice. Lots of cyclists do it and we usually ride several versions of it while camped at Catalina SP since it's so close. But don't try to take the La Canada trail north! It looks like it continues north of Tangerine but does dead end and turns to gravel. We always get on the road when the trail comes to Tangerine - it's by the hospital, north of the big shopping center.

Where did you see him?
