Great shot! We’ve been there.
2 years agoReally!! Any steeper and we would not have managed. There are probably two roads in the whole of the UK at that gradient, I couldn't believe it. And of course the sign was only at the top and not the bottom...
2 years agoA day of adventures that ended well ! The scenery is once again stunning in a different way ! I’m sure Trieste is missing you !
2 years agoThat is BRUTAL. Not sure how we would even manage to push, let alone ride, up that one.
2 years agoAlso love your play on words title ! 💗💗💗
2 years agoTrieste is sooo beautiful ! So I guess there could be worse places to hole up ! I do hope the lurgies are quick to dissipate and you feel well again soon ! X
2 years agoIt’s a great picture ! Conveying warm skies and calm ! 😉
2 years agoAmazing photies as ever ! I would love to go back to V3nice and visit the Doge‘s palace . Don’t forget to look up any 2nd world war references in Trieste as I think your Grandpa was there in the Durham Light Infantry.
Hope you have the best Easter weekend and safe swift travels wherever you roam ! Sending much love xxxx
Venice by Peter Ackroyd is a fascinating account of the history - really brings it alive !
2 years agoEnjoyed reading this post. We’ve considered taking this oute up through the back door to Venice ourselves but have never fit it in. Looks like a great way to go.
2 years agoDefinitely true, or at least was in the past. We arrived by bike years ago and had to lock them up at the train station. And even if you could take them in you wouldn’t want to. You can’t go more than a block or two without coming to an arched bridge across a canal.
2 years agoThanks Tricia! Yes we are camping I think on the mainland just north of Lido, having only discovered a couple of days ago that there are no bikes allowed in Venice!
2 years agoWow, that's an endorsement! Ours was really a flying visit but it impressed me enough despite that.
2 years agoDoh! Thanks anyway Bill. We really thought they might be otters. Although, if it's small and brown and looks cute swimming in the river, who cares eh? Whoever they're invading maybe...
