Sorry to be on the back foot catching up with this bit of your blog worrying with you about what was the right thing to do ( - it’s a mother thing ) -and of course you were just getting on with it and I am only just now knowing all is well ! Sending all love and hassle free cycling fairies to take care of you ! X

Cheers Frank! It was nice getting your comments and encouragement.

Yes thanks - I've sent him a message! Maybe we'll meet up for a drink or something.

All the best x

Thanks for sharing, and congratulations to both of you for making it to Athens. Major accomplishment! And good luck in SE Asia.

From the free advice deptartment: I’d trust your instincts and take a pass on Turkey, or the Stans, or even Thailand at this time of year. It could be dangerously hot. Have you consulted a weather atlas? You might look to the north or take a break and come back in the fall.

After seeing one hurrying to the side of the road I started to believe they aren't slow, just extremely lazy.

No wonder they beat the hare...

Thanks Greg - it is pretty heavenly! Hot, sunny, beautiful, smells great... I still manage to complain a little 😅

The views are heavenly when you’re so high up - it must be wonderful to even like cycling up hills nevermind enjoy it ! It is looking very Greece in places - or is that my anticipation of the next chapter ! Sending blissful rest and recuperation ! XM

Albania is getting more and more beautiful by the day. And those smells . . . rosemary and oregano and fennel. Add a little garlic & onion and I'd be in pure heaven.

You just don't see many journals with visits to Albania in them. Good job going off-plan to include it in yours. And nice description of the car mania in Albania. (I'll waive the copyright fee if you want to use that Albania/mania rhyme in a future post.)

Sure, as long as you understand what you get for free.
