Glad you like my photos - you are so encouraging! We leave tomorrow for the next tour, but who knows how long it is going to take me to get the journal done!
3 years agoI have finally found some time to catch up with you on your tours. I loved all the photos of course, and I am always a bit envious of you bike touring from home. I am so sorry about your bike issue and hope that can get resolved. Pushing your e-bike up any kind of incline is not only terribly difficult but, I think, a bit dangerous for us of the older generation ;’-).
I look forward to your next post, and to learning what you will find about your e-bike issues.
Thanks again, Graham! I have my camera set on aperture priority, and the HDR look comes from shooting in bright sun and dark shadows situations. Then in LR I open up the shadows a lot. I probably overdo it sometimes. Very often the pictures before I process them are kind of rubbish. lol But the time of day we are out on our bikes is probably not the best light for taking pictures.
3 years agoGreat snaps again today!
Are you using a HDR mode on the camera, or working wonders on Lightroom?
Thanks, Graham!
I use a mirrorless Sony , it's fairly compact and light as opposed to most dslr's. And I also like to do some post processing, mostly in Lightroom.
Photos as ever are fantastic. Thanks, Suzanne.

3 years agoWonderful journal!
I just wonder if you're using your phone to take photos, or a camera? I notice there's a nice brightness to the pics... such as this one. You also don't get any converging angles, so obviously carefully frame the shot.
Paired perfectly with his cell phone.
3 years agoLooks OK. Just OK.
3 years agoThe bike shop hasn't been able to help. I have found a solution, though. I have been keeping a low profile on this since it was a rather extravagant solution which I am a bit embarrassed about. But the "solution" is super and I don't regret a single cent. You'll see it in the next post.
3 years agoProbably derived from the name Wachar, a bishop (?) in the early Middle Ages, who made a donation ... that's all the information I could glean from the internet.
3 years agoThis looked like such a pleasant short trip. Day 2 looked postcard perfect. I was going to ask how your bike was performing for you, after the issues you had at the beginning. Unfortunately, your text has given me a bit of an answer! I hope a bike shop can help you out - pushing a loaded bike is never fun, a loaded e-bike would be even worse!! Good luck finding a good resolution for those issues. Looking forward to the next trip!
