Steve Miller/Grampies commented on Riding the Mediterranean Coast to Sete

Are you planning to ride the canal de midi? If yes, please do yourselves a favour and reconsider, at least until near Frontignan. It is an impossible ride with a loaded touring bike, and for you with the tandem it would be a nightmare. The picture you have above of your canal path is exactly the Canal de Midi. Search out adjacent D roads, you will be much happier.

Steve says any time he is keft outside with the bikes he can count on a free "French lesson".

Not our favourite either- we opted for a hard 2yr cheese full of flavour and character.

Did you try sny of these coloured cheeses? We did a few years ago, and found them interesting but not our favourites.

They would only last us a few hours - how do you make them last any longer?

Ah yes, if you go over the white thing, in principle the side pieces pivot. We just took the regular bridge to the right of this one!

We have been whining about the lack of ripe cherries since the start, and You seem to have hit it just right. Grrr.

We spent a wonderful day last year exploring old Lyon. It is really teŕrific. BUT, we took a train from Macon and also out of Lyon to Valence the next day. It made the whole thing very doable. This year we rode in and out of Lyon, and promised ourselves, never again.sk

Bakery lunches are the best. We usually have quiche or share a sanwich and finish with a pastry and some fruit if we have found a fruiterie. Gotta love France.v

Wow - 15 pounds is a hefty load. We are just getting ready to send our 3rd mailback, but I think we are only at barely 10 lbs for the first two. It is incredible how quickly stuff accumulates, isn't it?
