We must remember this spot, thanks for the info. :)
6 years agoHaha, yes! We stayed here too :)
6 years agoWe just loved the European architecture, so different from here in Tasmania.
6 years agoHello to you both. We are home again and I've finally found your Blog. Lovely meeting you and thanks for the mention :)
6 years agoSandwiches w/wurst, strudel, cake, coffee from past days have all been great, but there is a lack of schnitzel. If you order some, I recommend also Almdudler, which is the national softdrink of Austria (next to Coke).
6 years agoWell, that’s a tough one - lots of hydrangeas here, but I think that roses win out. Each region is different, so we’ll see as we proceed. The roses remind me of Toronto’s Italian neighbourhoods where front yards are dominated by roses, grapes and stone statues. Now Spain (Catalonia) was special as we were there when cacti were in full bloom. Hedges and hillsides of flowering cacti -stunning.
You have had an epic trip. We sympathize with Dodie’s knee pain and hope that rest will help. I have had chronic knee issues for 50 years and understand the pain and challenges.
Ahh, Hydrangea. We found different flowers dominant in different regions - Iris in Provence, Rhododendron in Brittany, and Hydrangea in Netherlands. Is there one that seems everywhere in your part of Italy?
6 years agoThank you for your kind thoughts Mike. You are right -we’ll find a doctor today. Needed the push as I have been reassuring Barry that I am fine. Not fair to him either.
6 years agoWhat a wonderful cycling community we share online. We value following others and the caring we feel as well. You’re right -I will seek help. Am guilty of ploughing on trying to be ok. A bit stubborn I guess. Thanks for giving me a wake up call.
6 years agoMary Ellen, it sounds like you may have developed bronchitis or even pneumonia. Go see a doctor and get it checked out, this is not the kind of thing to fool around with. You may very well need antibiotics and the longer you wait the longer recovery will take. I am concerned for you. Dodie

I suggest you may need medical intervention if you are not healing.
Not an easy choice with language differences and not understanding how the local medical system works however.

Six years ago, my husband and I stayed in the hotel next door, Hotel Rigoletto. We, too, experienced a tremendous thunderstorm in the night, lightning and loud, booming thunder! I wrote about it in my journal on our trip in the Po Valley. https://travel.topicwise.com/doc/page/?o=1r1&page_id=283554&v=27
6 years agoHi again,
I suspect your autocorrect got it wrong. The village is called Aramon.
Cheers,
Keith
Hi guys,
We call them "puces" (fleas) in France.
Cheers,
Keith
