I just read the whole thing today, having found it (again) when researching for a potential Alps trip next year. Very enjoyable!
3 months agoOr a Canadian howl in despair! A train! Wish we had some of those... I refuse to count trains that run only twice a week or those priced only for very wealthy tourists.

2 years agoAnd they say the Netherlands are flat. You must've gained nearly 30 meters (oh, sorry, 'metres') over the course of that ride. :)

2 years agoMy favorite castle. We lived in Germany for 2 years (76-78) and spent most weekends travelling and seeing castles all over Europe.
