6 years agoI think this is a variety of agave not a cactus. These are native to the American content and this variety is probably from Mexico. It is very similar to the century plants we had in the backyard of the Ivy house.
6 years agoVery good! Especially considering how tired you must have been. You do have me wondering how a road cannot exist in real life. Are you traveling within an episode of Star Wars?
6 years agoHi Steve, our inland route is inspired by the existence of two Vias Verdes (rail-to-trail paths). The Sierra de Alcaraz Via Verde runs from Albacete to Alcaraz. The Del Aceite Via Verde runs from Jaén to Puente Genil.
We are trying the Komoot app for routing and navigation. We may buy some road maps as a backup plan.
We have been leery of the coastal route, Cartagena to Malaga, thinking that it has lots of traffic and not much provision for bikes. Your inland route looks interesting. Did you choose it because you know of good cycling along that way? What will you be using for maps and guidance as you follow this path?

Thanks for the kind words! We actually gained inspiration from Jean-Paul & Chantal, who I understand are friends of yours. There are certainly a lot of options. I look forward to seeing the route you come up with.
