Thanks again for posting this, Suzanne. This is a region we want to come back to before long, and you’ve given us some ideas on where to look. Congratulations on the ride, too! It sounded like you were a bit apprehensive going in, but it was a big success. We look forward to seeing you on the road again soon.

Hi Suzanne - thanks for posting your trip. We had full intentions of doing this route this year but it just didn’t happen. But we have done a few sections of it so with your journal we have a good sense of what we missed. So Its going to have to be another time. All the best to both of you.

Well, maybe we’ll be lucky and one of the group will roll through your part of the world some year. We’re a pretty mobile crowd, so you never know.

Thanks, Scott! That would be a great goal for a coffeeneuring ride, just a bit too far. Darn.

BTW, I just came across the Bicycle Life forum you were probably referring to not long ago. Consider yourself an honorary member of the Hostile Actor’s Club. If you’re ever in the Pacific Northwest, do stop in for your complementary initiation beverage.

Sort of a surreal effect, like he’s frozen in action.

Great clouds, huh? But they had their price!
The train was simple and I think it was only about 10 minutes. I haven't ridden as many mountain roads as you and don't have the comparison, but I found this spectacular. Going into Italy it got even better.

The clouds are incredible in these photos, Suzanne! And I was glad to read this post because it’s a route I’ve wondered about taking sometime. I’ve been biased against it because you can’t just bike through, but taking a train over the top looks like no big deal at all.

I feel the same as you Suzanne about riding too long on the flat. nice (easy) rollers are much more comfortable l think.
