Also: I think you misspelled the word "brambleway."

:-)
Haha thanks Mark - yeah the word "biblical" did cross my mind a few times that day. Definitely need some new waterproofs, by the end they were keeping more water in than out!

1 month agoThanks Mark - it really was! I definitely go into these things thinking "this'll be a good story" - that started to wear a bit after the third soaking!
1 month agoThanks Scott! I think me being "foolhardy" may be more accurate here to be honest!
1 month agoI recall that weekend: we were getting absolutely drenched in Chichester, in the kind of rains that might have scared even Noah. You're a brave, brave man. And now I think you should treat yourself to some new goretex π

2 months agoThanks Mark! It's worn me out almost as much thinking back on it ... more coming soon.
Haha yeah there's definitely more of the 'muff in Plimuff. I do tend to mangle 'ths' wherever I go though. Caused some amusement when I had to defend my feesis π
Controversially, I'd go along with you if we were talking about plimuff, but there's definitely a 'th' at the end of tinmuth. We once had a Waitrose here, you know. π
Glad you got to enjoy some of the Exe cycle path, looking forward to reading about the rest of the ride!!
Thanks Suzanne! Even reading it back I'm glad to be back in the warm. It does give a very damp and cold impression of Britain at this time of year that isn't usually right - September is often really warm! - but I picked a heck of a few days...

π Haha, I can't say I wasn't tempted! I see those little blue signs and go "but they're actually encouraging me to go that way! I wonder what's down there?!". One day I'll learn that the answer is always brambles, lots of brambles.
