WE really feel for you at the moment with all the horror that is going on in that lovely state of Oregon You must feel very torn at the moment to be away from what your friends are going through, hopefully November will bring some sane calmness not to just Oregon but to the rest of the country. In the meantime we obsess by having around 2 new virus cases a day

I believe you are correct.

It’s stomach churning to watch, even from across the ocean. I can’t imagine what it must be like to be experiencing it directly. Even if you’re not threatened by the fires directly, the air quality sounds almost disabling.
4 years agoThe fires in the Oregon the entire west are horrific. I hope the Grumby's and your other friends/family in the area are safe and that their homes are spared.
4 years agoOh, of course. It probably is fireweed. There were so few blossoms remaining that it didn’t register.
4 years agoFireweed looks like it is about done for the season. Fabulous macro shot!
4 years agoInteresting concept - "free range bees."
4 years agoYes, but perhaps not so close to a million free range bees.
4 years agoAnd this is the way I like to take baths.
4 years agoYou guys are so fat.
4 years agoI grew up on a lake that had one small stream as its only outlet. The stream had a small three foot dam on it just as it was exiting the lake. It helped maintain a certain level for the lake most of the year. Humans have to mess with nature as much as possible, you know. If the stream had been left alone to run naturally the lake would have been at least three feet lower by August every summer and I suppose more propellers would be ruined by hitting rocks in that case. I hope this helps explains things!
4 years agoWow is right. Imagine another twenty of these lining the whole lower edge of the village.
4 years agoOh, right. I’d meant to go back and correct that but forgot.
