Scott Anderson replied to a comment by Jen Rahn on a photo in In Varaždin: west along the Drava

This popped up in my email this morning and really perplexed me. Chickens? So I upended up the journal, surprised that you were looking back at our trip to Croatia during the Covid year. What are you looking there again after all this time? And then I saw that in fact the comment was four years old.

You have no idea how relieved that made me. Right before your emailed comment I read one from Shawn, letting me know he thought he was going to need surgery for a valve replacement. Again? He had open heart surgery four years ago. I was utterly heartsick. Your comment though led me back to my email, and somehow it had opened up to dates four years in the past. Very old news, thank god. I’ll go back to enjoying my breakfast now.

We'll have to return someday, with the weathern and the ride we were too tired to explore.

That's true, but what my verses lack in value is made up in Trumpiness.

Me too, now. It took me long enough though - I think I first rode it just a few years ago.

We can’t complain, since it’s free-verse. At 5¢/word though, we might quibble. Ms. Grumby’s limericks or Suzanne’s haikus are a better deal.

A free-form verse....I apologize.

Sunrise over the Dola-mites
Not as good as the Yose-mites
Wishing I was in Tan-Zaynia
Or maybe Thighland
Or Minneanapolis, or Jeruzhulm.

Wherever I go, it'll be a Peninshula,
With the Best Words and Nasty Women,
Full of diversary, just like Missouria
Former home of U-licious D Grant

You and Suzanne. So clairvoyant!

Isn’t that something though? It is almost too perfect. I took several photos of this guy from a different angle, and then as I was biking off turned back for a final look and saw this.

I predict another blog about another adventure!

(Insider knowledge?)

Grumby Biking Unit* calculation:
(42*35)/(50+58)=13.61.

GBU not to be confused with GBO!

Those ripples on the water look to perfect to be real!

Thanks, Tricia. I’m excited about the coming inauguration also. I was surprised at how inspiring and upbeat both of their victory speeches were. Our country seems such a wreck now, but there’s reason to hope.

Thanks Scott. As always, I travel on my arm chair through your words. Sue and I are hopeful about our travels this summer. Cautiously, however.
