2 days agoGorgeous! Your photo looks like a painting, actually..
2 days agoI've never heard of a condition like you describe. It sounds awful! All the best to you as you work through this issue.
2 days agoI wonder if the ophthalmologist has a name for what you are experiencing? I have a friend who has sound-color synthesia. He see sounds as colors. It sounds like a miserable affliction. Your situation sounds parallel.
2 days agoYup. We’re on top of that. We may sell the car once the dust settles.
2 days agoYes, that’s been on my mind a lot lately. Prognosis continues to be positive, and feels like I’m experiencing an early Xmas miracle.
2 days agoEyesight is precious, good that you finally got to see an opthalmologist
2 days agoWhat a terrible day but thank goodness at long last you are getting thoughtful care. Do keep us up to date with the progress with the steroids. DONT drive use Ubers and taxis as it would be terrible to add a car accident to your list of prnblems. Our very best wishes

2 days agoAnd zoos! I don’t count zoo birds, but each to their own rules of course. Congratulations yourselves, it’s been very interesting watching this become a real focus for you both.
2 days agoReading Winterlude takes priority, but otherwise I am trying to enter all our 2024 birds into eBird. They are quite amazing in the speed with which a reviewer emails you if they think you have have stepped out of line. They have "illegal" birds of various types, such as "escapees", and then there are "spuhs" and "slashes", "other taxa" and who knows what. I went to email war with a reviewer over my Greylag geese, seen in the wild everywhere in Europe but confined to "escapee" prison by eBird. I found it therefore liberating to see you starting 2025 here in December, because you make the rules!
p.s. There is a good chance we too will exceed 300, but we cheated by going to Costa Rica. On the other hand, we only count a bird if we have an identifiable photo. By contrast, the people in our tour, with the $2500 Swarovski binos, could call out 10 birds in a minute. In the 12 days of the tour, they saw 258 species!
Yes, I spent November in Carlsbad, and I will be heading for Tucson in January. I will be there until March 1st, and assuming you have most of this bad stuff behind you by then, perhaps we can get together. We’ll keep our fingers crossed 🤞
2 days agoWhat an awful, awful day, but finally some competent health care providers. Hang in there. Thinking of you both.
