Thanks for identifying this one. I’ll think about it differently now.

Looks a lot like lesser celandine... Terribly invasive. Covers up everything in floodplains/low lying areas. It has only taken a few years to cover areas where there once were an abundance of species in our area.

Squirrels have perfected that innocent look. It's all a lie.

Either way, it's a squirrel.

Looks like one of those fuzzy tailed rats that eat whatever I grow, from paw paws to blackberries to raspberries to tomatoes and various flowers, not to mention all the black walnut carcasses that are dropped on the lawn as barefoot deterrents... Grrrr!!

Yes, it does look a lot like a goldeneye though, don’t you think? Anyone could get confused.

Thanks for the education! You get an “A”, and I just “pass”😁

Funny. Yes, I’m a fan myself. This one’s a female. The males have green heads. They make a really colorful couple.

Either way it’s a furry thing ..;)

Okay, is this is supposed to be Barrow’s goldeneye ? ( FYI, I cheated and looked it up as the “squirrel part” really threw me..)

I like your typo! It “fits the bill”.. ( insert laugh please) me-fan-ser…as in ME “fan” ( for the feathers) ser ( or SIR), if the fowl is male.. Either way, it was fun! Thanks, Scott! I really need these peeks at normal now…
