Is the Garmin the solar powered one?
11 months agoHeh, heh. I wondered if you’d notice. Well done!
11 months agoNice photo you’ve got there on the iPad.
11 months agoThose of us who are into recumbent riding would like to hear the details of your ride, Kathleen!
11 months agoYes, we ride with them on handlebar mounts too. We take them off at the end of the ride though of course. Something went wrong between the time we stopped at the car, she took the device off the bike, we chatted with Kathleen and loaded the bikes, and got in the car. Pretty strange.
11 months agoGlad you found a replacement for the Garmin but a little bit confused. Do you just carry them loose in a pocket? We use a handlebar mount for Dodie's waterproof phone that she uses for GPS which makes it easier to glance at periodically without stopping. It is harder to lose that way also.
11 months agoRecommendation seconded. That’s where we get our trikes serviced.
11 months agoOh, a birthday ride is in the plans alright, for when we get to Tucson. I never do it on my actual birthday anyway because we’re not usually in the right place for it.
11 months agoThat was a pretty good trick Kathleen played on you when she led you up those hills after making that "impromptu" route change. Also, happy belated birthday, Scott. I bet you were wishing you were far enough past your surgery to ride your age, as you've done so many times before.
11 months agoOh, thanks for pointing out the rock, which I hadn’t even noticed. I forget what it is now - a door step or part of a garden wall I think.
11 months agoCorrect! Great photo, and I like the rock with petrified mud ripples!

Oh no! Sorry to hear about the lost Garmin. They need to add trackers to those things.
11 months agoIt was a lovely time with you two. Couldn’t have asked for a better day or better company. Your photos and the video really show off how beautiful and varied this part of the coast is.
(And that 100-yard-long bump topped out at only 11% on my track.)
Even better with a trike is that you can easily pull out a camera while riding and snap a photo. I’ve done this a number of times in the velomobile. But my favorite thing is to be riding clipped in up a climb, be able to stop without having to clip out, and not having to worry about ever tipping over.

Interesting to see the handlebar bag mounted as a side unit. How's that done, and is there a corresponding one on the opposite side?
