Yes, I remember that joke. It's a good one. I think it goes something like this. A patient goes into surgery to repair a broken hand.
Patient: Hey doc, when this operation is done, will I be able to play the piano.
Surgeon: Yes, I think you'll still have that ability.
Patient: Oh, that's great, because I could never play the piano before.

No photo, but I’m taking credit anyway. And no reason for you to not take credit for your roadrunner and toucan sightings either, since they’re pretty unmistakeable - assuming you identify which roadrunner and toucan species you saw, since there’s more than one of each.

Hey you - firstly, your age in miles is a real achievement, unlike our wimpy metric metrics. Secondly, where is your photo of the Northern Rough Winged Swallow? If no photo still counts when ID is clear, then Dodie will begin demanding credit for the Toucan she saw the other day and the Roadrunner from today.

Hey, thanks for that! It didn’t occur to me. Not the most attractive insect though.

It’s always been the Rodriguez, but mainly because of timing. I’ve always done this ride when we’re in town or in the winter, and that’s the bike I ride then.

Wow, congratulations, Scott. You are amazing and inspiring. Not only did you do more than 77 miles but the total ascent tacked on is also quite a factor and quite impressive.

Random question.....what bike did you use to do your birthday miles each year. Just curious if you always chose the Rodriquez or if a lot of those were with the Bike Friday.

I'd like to think that before this trip of ours is finished I will do my birthday miles. Don't hold your breath though.

What a great shot. He's cute and the fuzziness makes him even cuter.

Any kind of squirrel is down pretty low on my cuteness scale.

Ha! I guess somewhat cute, but still lower on my cuteness scale.

If they were headed to a lake, it must have been Silverbell - but it’s on the west side, not the east. It’s just north of the golf course. You had just finished biking right past it when I hollered across the wash at you last week. You’ve probably never noticed because you can’t really see the lake from the Loop because of a low ridge.

The lake shown in this ride is in Kennedy Park, down south by Ajo Way. I doubt that they were trying to get here if they’re birders. It’s just a so-so spot. Silverbell is much better.
