I love how the saguaros seem illuminated

Gotta love the sunlit teddybear spines against the dark background! My shots never have quite gotten the extreme contrast.

Ouch! Hope you recover quickly. It all happens in an instant, but the scars last for a while...

That appears to be concrete while most of the other parts you’ve shown look like asphalt. Asphalt paving is less expensive so there’s probably a reason these short bits are concrete.

No, I didn't remember that was the bird on the cover! I didn't think you really needed the book but it fit in that slot in the car so nicely. I think your photos of birds are better than most bird books!

I wonder why so many woodpecker species have bright red on their heads.

"#75: Yellow-eyed junco. I also saw #75, a dark-eyed junco,"

Two species each designated #75? That's one way to keep the count down I suppose, if that's your objective.

On the lone prairie
Where the coyotes will
Howl over me...

"The mission was established by the Jesuits in 1692 to service the Tohono Oʼodham tribe."

'Service' has so many possible interpretations.

Still, it's nice to see at least a token nod to Native cultures in the interior statuary.

All the holes in that saguaro in the foreground suggests that it's a condominium for birds.
