I'm leaning toward Gander's buckhorn.

Might be cotton top cactus. Similar to barrels, but thinner spikes, and they usually are found in clumps.

2 years agoIt’s already doing better and doesn’t impact bicycling at all. It’s still bruised and a little swollen but only hurts a little bit when walking barefoot on a hard floor.

2 years agoWildflowers there and in Joshua Tree should be good in a few weeks once it warms up a bit. Winter rains were pretty good.

2 years agoYup - short pano, Rachael’s idea. This close up a wide one was severely distorted. The path is actually completely straight.
