Very cool place! Nice to have room to spread out for a month
And a place to be fancy with the "smart" devices.
I'll be eager to read about how Alexis is / isn't helpful.
Well, Amazon thinks of everything - you can even reset it to use an alternate name of your choice. Isn’t that the point though? Alexa thinks so you don’t have to.
2 years agoBingo. Brake. Thanks!
2 years agoHey, that worked! She said “OK, but put your foot on the brake first.”
2 years agoHow about this? Rachael gets in the car and says, "Alexa, start the car."
2 years agoOh! I’ll have to start listening to that soothing voice with new respect.
2 years agoEcho?
2 years agoAlexa?
2 years agoNice place! But our niece Alexa wouldn't appreciate it. She's not a Google fan--why did they have to choose *her* name?
2 years agoNot the seatbelt. Brake pedal though. That’s a thought, but I don’t think so. Thanks for the idea. It’s one more thing to try.
2 years agoSo, on the car not starting., I'm offering two guesses. Brake pedal not depressed? Seat belt not fully latched?
2 years agoI don’t think I ever got to see him perform live. I did get to hear his sideman Bobby Shew at a concert in Salem about 35 years ago though. I think that’s when I originally bought this CD.
2 years agoYou’ll be amused to hear that when I read this to Rachael, a voice from behind said “Amazon Photos is not supported on this device.”
2 years agoBud Shank. Been a long time since I've heard that name. Got to hear him live a few times up in Port Townsend.
Congrats on the covid test. Just hope the afflicted don't get in the way of the procedure taking place on time.
Yay, that's good to hear! On another subject, just some Alexa information... Keep in mind that by default, Alexa keeps a voice history (that is, the specific commands that you give it and how it responds), and that history is available to view by the owner of the Amazon account associated with the device. Not a big deal if you own the device and the account, but something to keep in mind in your situation where you're renting. So, don't go asking her for anything too unusual. :-)
2 years agoWe have a couple of devices, and I review and delete history regularly.
