Keep pushing on Vince, you are proving you can do anything. So so proud of you šš
3 years agoIndeed. Being on a bike makes me feel small when I'm on the long straight roads.

Thanks Bill, they are a little majestic or magical or very powerful to see up close.
It's a shame they're feeding off roadkill as this sometimes ends with them being hit by vehicles too. Because they are so big and heavy, they are very slow to take off from the ground.
Cheers

Hi Toby, thank you for liking my blog.
I find it hard to restrict my appetite while on tour. I try to choose healthy options when they're available.
My starting weight was 105kgs. I last weighed myself when in Cairns at 98kgs.
On previous tours I have lost 1kg/week.
I had hoped to loose the weight a lot more quickly than I have this time. Whenever my legs get tired on the bike I always turn to food.
Ideally I would like to be 80kgs when I finish. I will be happy with any amount of weight I loose.
Cheers

3 years agoBest wedge-tailed eagle picture I've seen following cycle tours!

Vince, I love the pictures and the simple prose. There's beauty in the starkness of the landscape. It looks like I've become addicted to your blog. I'm interested in how you are going diet-wise. I'm about the same weight. I imagine you are losing kilos?
3 years agoYes it was a special spot.
3 years agoThank you Mum. It's the same bird with two different names. It's weird that it's commonly known here as a jabiru.
Jabiru is a Brazilian word and not an aboriginal word.
Thank you Bill. You're spot on with the ID. I tried to ID but the best I got was a Mexican tree. Thanks so much.
Cheers
Vince
I enjoy see my shadow in different positions. It's like my ever-present cycle touring shadow friend.

Sounds like the next leg of the journey is going to be very challenging. Still Iām super impressed how well you organise yourself and your determination. Good luck with the next leg of your journey.
