After much internet searching, my best guess is Slater's dragon.

Looks like some species of two lined dragon. There are 28 recognized species according to inaturalist

Wow! That's an amazing coincidence. It's in the middle of nowhere. Nice place and lovely people. I saw a kid riding a unicycle down the street. Pretty cool.

3 years agoThe road conditions you are describing are very similar to the 700km Gibb River Road from (near) Kununurra to Derby.
