Thank you Scott. I'm keeping up with your blog too. Today I took the same short cut as you after leaving Cape Jervis.
2 years agoReading through this now Vince! was trying to work out how to email you but cant seem to work it out. I have made it with you to Grafton so far, enjoying the read very much!
2 years agoI've caught up with your third attempt and now I'm reading your second attempt. (Obviously I really enjoy your blogs.) Anyway I'd see the comet windmill stuff but hadn't realized that was the name of the manufacturer. Makes sense now
2 years agoLednar, Is it alright to ask you about cycling in Perth? I am coming in October 2022 for four weeks and hope to rent a bike and explore while my spouse is at a retreat in Mandaring! My email is luv2cycle@yahoo.com My cycleblaze journal is Heading South for the Promise of a Warmer Winter and Promise Me Fun and Sun!
2 years agoHi Vince, well done for your trip. Not sure whether you connected my messages... I was cycling around Australia. I first met your mum between Bundaberg and Rosedale, QLD, during my lunch at a pub. Then a cyclist in his car offered me bananas around Elliott, NT, and it was you!!! Thanks so much for helping me that day!
Australia is so small, that I meet your mum then you!!! Lionel Morbelli
Coffee and cake sounds fabulous!
Thank you Lednar.
Grey nomads are usually the friendliest folks around I've found too. Sad a few idiots can spoil your mood, should put then on a bike for a while, I reckon they'd get a whole new attitude. When you eventually get to Perth I'll shout you a coffee and cake.
3 years agoHi Dave and Nancy,
Thank you for your kind comments. I was excited to see Tess on the TV show. Thank you.
Cheers
Vince
Hi Vince - sorry to see you stop but completely get it. Doing it alone while your wife was at home would have been very hard. For sure, my wife and I, travelling as a pair, help each other immensely, with everything.
Meanwhile - if you get the chance, watch ABC iView. Look for the show called "Moving to the Country" episode 4 Top End / NT. I just watched it and it featured a friend of yours. It was a pleasure to watch the show but to honest, you covered it just as well in your blog!

3 years agoHi Toby, thank you for your considered comments. I especially appreciate your thoughts on people that shout abuse. It's a different perspective to what I was thinking. It's a compassionate view and I like it. I will try to remember this the next time I cope abuse. Thanks mate.

Hello James,
7 months agoI have enjoyed reading your journal, going from Cairns through to Darwin. And came across your journal as I have started to plan my adventure to cycle Australia.
With your Final Notes I was wondering what the breakdown the 8ltrs p/day btwn drinking, meals and washing. And did you always carry a minimum of 8 ltrs per day on your bike?
Is there anything in regards to food and water that in hindsight you would do differently?
I hope you are planning the next segment of your journey. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
