A new bike - a bike is a bit like Grandfathers axe, as long as you don't damage your frame and it doesn't rust out you just keep replacing tyres, tubes, shift and brake cables and brake pads and of course chains.
I guess that you are running seven or eight speeds. The new 11/12 speeds shift nicely when they come out of the shop but those narrower chains are usually more expensive and do not last as long. Then everyone thinks they have to have disc brakes. Rim brakes still work fine for me.
But if you decide to get a new bike have a look at a Rohloff IGH - see my post in the forums. (And replace pedals in your case!)

You can get a room on the boat next time. Cheap, Spartan & clean. And you can’t miss the boat...
3 years agoBig Nellie is a Tour Easy. I have reduced my use of it because it aggravated a nerve condition in my lower legs. Turns out I have spinal stenosis which is unaffected by riding a conventional bike.

I'm a Stratus XP rider - what is Big Nellie?
