It’s a little peaked, with a slope of maybe 10 degrees. I know because I also came away with an end view of the church.

Nettles are pretty good wild greens. But be sure to wear gloves when picking! It took a few decades after hearing they were good before I was willing to try them... I missed out on a lot of good eating!

Does the building have a flat roof, or is it just low-pitched? Can't tell from this view, but it looks low and squat.

He does, doesn’t he! It’s that mask - a sure sign of a bad guy.

I don’t think his whereabouts have been known of for sure since his shrine was destroyed 800 years ago. There’s one theory that some of his body parts were spirited away to Toulouse half a millenium ago but after that the trail grows cold.

I was surprised by this also because I hadn’t heard of this invasion. How did he get the elephants across the English Channel? Oh, wait - wrong invasion, wrong warrior.

I should have shown a side view, but I liked it from this direction for the storm clouds. From the side you can see how tilted it is.

Picturesque, but a carpenter's worst nightmare.

Why was a British Earl storing a collection of art in any place Napoleon could get at, Iam compelled to wonder.

Is King Ed still in residence? Any indication of where, if so?

It still fascinates me that Richard III was found under what had become a parking lot in modern times, and that nobody really remembered to a certainty he was there. It took the persistent, dogged efforts of a volunteer / amateur group of sleuth / archaeologist / Richard III fans to raise private funding to do the research and excavation to find him and dig him up. Amusingly, his remains were found under the parking spot designated "R".

And he has a guilty look on his face to prove it.

Looks like a well-worn painted lady.

I’m glad I could get an appointment. I’m betting the penicillin should help.
