Typical. Actually it’s paying off. The 10 percenters are feeling pretty minor when we come to them now.
2 years agoIt was lucky that the heat pushed us out the door so early in the day. We’ll have to start looking for another excuse to do this, maybe when we get to the Lake District.

2 years agoKeep cool out there. Nice shots today. Sue and I are cutting our time at our un-airconditioned room in Bolzano short. We're headed for an air conditioned room in Trento. After re-reading your journal about your Adige experience, we are looking forward to the cycle path, and, of course at flat ride!

Those are 'throughs' (i.e. through-stones) : they stabilise the structure by linking the two sides of the wall together.
