Actually I was very glad I wasn’t on that ride! I loved the hike I took and it was great to have a break from the saddle!

It’s one of the most amazing hikes I’ve taken! I’d definitely want to do it again but make a loop of it.

Or a sheep. He looked like a black haystack when I first saw him.

A bit of drama today to pep up your journal. We don't want too many of those smooth-ride days, you know.

I wonder if he ever walks into a wall.

Thanks, Rich. I feel really fortunate to have had this day. I wanted to put down enough about it that I can keep its memory alive.

It was an exceptional day alright, but then so was her hike for her. Oddly enough she’s expressed no regrets so far.

You continue to amaze with your ambitious route planning and exceptional photos. I am certain that Rocky is now a bit sad to miss out on such an epic ride!

The scenery has been remarkable alright, really ever since we came to the North York Moors. The whole last month has been one Wow and Ow day after another.

Scott Anderson replied to a comment by Carolyn van Hoeve on In Abergavenny: time out

You’re going to Cremieu! We loved that place and that stay and would love to return. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Is the plan still to bike from Lyon to Marseille, down the Via Rhona with a detour to Annecy and Grenoble? When will you be flying home? It’s not beyond reason that we could be in the vicinity when you’re at the southern end. Also the Grampies, who are planning on ending their next tour in Marseille the last I heard.

I’m sorry I didn’t think to mention this before, but there’s a bloke who lives in Abergavenny who’s written a series of cycling guides called Lost Lanes, for the north, south, west and central England, plus Wales. So far. HTTPS://lostlanes.co.uk.
