2 years agoI noticed that too. It was during the first year of Covid so I doubt there was much of a celebration.
2 years agoDarn, just missed its 800th birthday which, no doubt, must have been a monumentally festive event.

2 years agoIt took awhile, but I found it. The village was named by a railroad supervisor building the GTP railroad (the Grand Trunk Pacific, the line from Winnipeg to Prince Rupert. Someone who knew him at the time said he named it after his home back in Wales.
