Have you had sticky toffee pudding? Custard is also very British.
...I miss it here in Taiwan.
Yes... this tour really did include the 'sights'... Worksop, Scunny, Grimsby.
2 years agoHi,
Grimsby looks like it sounds. There’s another Grimsby in southern Ontario I’ve been to. A Scottish games festival was held there every year, which is why I thought the original Grimsby was in Scotland. Now I know.
Cheers,
Keith
Hi,
There’s a slug of English idioms unknown to us yanks. I think I would find your morning surroundings depressing. The Travelodge might be ok but the rest of it yuck. But your dinner is about the most English thing ever, to the point of being a cliche not just in America, but here as well. I hope it was good.
Cheers,
Keith
Hi,
That’s the most cottage-y looking cottage I’ve ever seen. An ut-cottage, if you will.
The shop had two bottles for about a fiver and Witham is the name of the river in Lincoln.
I also like that period of design and art and have done since I was a teenager. I'd read about the murals, but hadn't seen any photos.
I always assume English idioms are known across the pond, but I guess some didn't make it.
2 years agoI think that was my third or fourth try. The timer on that DSLR was annoying, as it just took on shot for 10 seconds, while my broken Canon could be programmed and I usually had it to take three shots after 15 seconds... One of which would be fine.
2 years agoCosta is ubititous. It's a decent brew. You must have passed one in a town centre.

I have a mini-tradition of buying small Tetra pacs of custard as a treat when touring in the UK. They can be be a real pick-me-up when you're flagging and you can find them in small village shops. Highly recommended.
