The world's smallest working "steam engine" has been built in Germany, according to a team of researchers.

Themicroscopic modelwas based on a 195-year-old design by the inventor Robert Stirling.

Changes included the replacement of the original pistons with a laser beam. The micro-engine can be seen only under a microscope

I'm really enjoying your tour. I met you on the White Pine along with my friend and my dog. We were honored to see our pictures included in the blog that day. Anyway, you are giving me lots of ideas for future tours.

A bit of googling convinced me that Soapwort (the name Bill gave) and Bouncing Bett refer to the same flower. Apparently Bouncing Betty (or Bouncing Betty) refers to a washer woman. Since the flower can be used to make soap, both names seem appropriate.

There's a lot more than luck involved in tracking down these critters. We appreciate your interest in solving these mysteries.

Sometimes I get incredibly lucky, and find two in the same internet site!

Sorry we missed out on your Canadian sojourn to Normandale area
You clearly had a great time.. glad you had some time Pt. Dover..during my youth it housed the "Summer Gardens" a dance hall.. many summer nights were spent dancing away to the music of the day.
Take care, and continue your trip without any serious incidents.
We're consoling ourselves with our grand kids..many adventures being enjoyed
