To protect bikes during flood? From experience that survey poles go underground in just couple hundred years? And i see somebody try to fix it by parking heavy real bike and bend rack.

6 years agoMuncie, IN - another stop of fond memories in "my need for speed". Way back when ..... the drag strip in Muncie had "run what you brung" on Sunday afternoon. Anybody could drag race with whatever car they came to the track. My mother had one of the first Oldsmobile Starfire convertibles off the production line. She assumed that I was "cruising for chicks" when I borrowed her pride and joy on a Sunday. I was 22 years old and graduating from college before I finally told her that I was actually going down to Muncie to race her car.

6 years agoGlad to hear about the "smart" rumble strips. It's nice when someone thinks about all the road's users, and how a design can work for everyone.
6 years agoTwo unwritten rules to remember:
1. Rumble strips save lives.
2. Bicyclist lives don't count.
I have never understood why the rumble strips are as wide as they normally are (6 inches should be plenty to wake someone up) and why they don't start right on the white line instead of 1/3 to 1/2 of the way in on the shoulder.
Glad you made it to New Bremen! Many decades ago I used to travel from my home in Fort Wayne, IN, to race motorcycles at New Bremen Speedway. Lots of fond memories.

About silos: silos are for storing silage for animal feed. No animals, no silos. Grain is stored in low bins or taken directly to the elevators.
