I was given this same mysterious advice before setting out on a cross country car trip with my girlfriend in 1977 and we both followed the advice and it was worth the stop...
Now, those are some old aloe plants!

Where I grew up in South Africa we knew them as tulip trees but here in Australia nobody knows what you mean if you say if you say tulip tree, they are called magnolias here.
