Looks like another tropical kingbird.

Eyes make it look like a grackle.
1 year agoLooks to me like a tropical kingbird... but there are several flycatchers down there that look very similar.

Enjoying following along!
1 year agoI think we passed near Mayapan, but missed it. Ok, next time.
1 year agoThere were bigger and better rooms, we think, but this was just swell. So restful.
1 year agoYikes, I wish we had taken a closer look. Our guide mentioned a lot, but missed this.

We like this one a lot too. It is also just a walk across the street from our hotel. They also have a reasonable dinner buffet.
We were shown a very fancy narrow gauge rail car like this at the hacienda museum before Uxmal. I understood the system transported the Spanish family, maybe to the big train station, but Dodie thought it was also a worker transport on the hacienda. Could cenote transport be a subsequent use, or maybe just another use.
At the hacienda one, the seats in the car flipped forward and back, so the horse would be attached to one end or the other.
Ah but seemingly she is moving again.
1 year agoPlease. Double likes if you find it again. Your odds should be good - birds don’t move around much.
1 year agoWe’ve stayed at the Pickled Onion several times and love it. Valerie is a Brit who moved to Canada and then to the Yucatan!
1 year agoUxmal is great to see… so is another fav, Mayapan!
