Could easily be. I can’t see much to distinguish the two species actually. And in fact both look very much like the yellow-crowned euphonia and thick-billed euphonia. Steve’s just going to have to go back and get a better picture, but even then I doubt we’d be sure. I wonder if they hybridize, and are really better thought of as a single species with subspecies, like with yellow-rumped warblers.

Just read all of yesterday's comments. No, this is not the new camera. How could it be. Maybe the lens was fogged up, as you mentioned. I think it's the higher resolution.

The pictures are nice and sharp! Are you using the new camera here? Or just increased the resolution with the old one?

You should have taken a video!

I do too. They have a real elegance to them.

I thought you must have changed your technique, because you’ve got some really good shots in there. Something also to think about, if it’s a shot you want to be better quality - with my camera at least, it helps to give the camera time to figure out the image. I can almost see the image gradually improve as I watch, but maybe it’s my imagination.

Really tried on the cactus and yellow tree flower... Nice photos, but not much I could find on the internet. Again my reputation is tarnished. Keep up the great nature photography! Loving it!

Looks like a Scarabaeidae larva.

Maybe a scrub euphonia?

Fortunately, or maybe not, Steve is getting very skilled at these rear wheel repairs. It only took a little over an hour to fix. Aaaarrrgh.

I like how mockingbirds pose so well.

Raptors give me fits... I think this gray hawk might be a... gray hawk?

Our worry is that they are on the job, and deciding if we are going to make it through the heat.

Yellow-throated euphonia?

The tube we bought in Tulum was thick and kind of weird - like it had been fused together from scraps. It was a little hard to get on, but it held up today!
