We had the usual nightmare getting through Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, where we are now sitting waiting for a late flight to Valencia. We missed our scheduled flight by mere minutes due to late departures and long distances to traverse in the airport. Hope your transit went more smoothly.

I think I'll be adding a flag to my jacket, too. For that identifier.

My thoughts are similar. I worry that the elephant, in its current bad temper, will attempt to squash the mouse.

Wè have always carried small Canadian flag luggage tags attached to our panniers. It often helps to have a visual identifier.

Actually, if one has to keep residing in this country, I am in one of the bluest places of the state of California. Not many Trumpers are here. Thanks for your comments, Brent!

I have some Arkel panniers (Canadian!) with our Maple Leaf flag on them and a set without. I am bringing the former next week.

I’m thinking we should get a couple of these and stitch them to our panniers. Hopefully when the time comes the Schengen Zone and UK will still admit Americans!

It must be awful, too, having such a split country. I'm sorry you and those who didn't choose him need to live alongside his cultists.

I flat out tell people ( when they learn I am from USA) “I did NOT vote for DT”. Cancelling my newspapers ( the costs skyrocketed for home delivery) and not having a TV set has helped somewhat. However, I need to stop scrolling the newspapers online just before I go to bed. The nightmares are “I want my Mom” kind, and she is already in heaven, safe.

I empathize. That is how I feel if I were to go to your country (though I am not). Somewhat unknown uneasiness.

I'm concerned about traveling abroad and what peoples' reactions will be to finding out we are Americans. It is an unpopular time to be an American, even if we as individuals are nowhere near the decision making process!

Each day is an amazement at what is unfolding.

Adjacent to a regime threatening our sovereignty is pretty scary.

be glad you are only nutty adjacent. I'm about 18 months out from retirement and I'm worried that's going to get nuked.
