So much water yet it seems most of the houses and outbuildings are made of wood - how do they keep everything from rotting?
1 year agoI am amazed by these free standing fountains by the side of the road! I have seen them in several pictures now. Where is the water coming from? Could it be from underground pipes running from the feet of all those waterfall mountains?
1 year agoYes, it’s called a needle weir. Upright wooden slats form the dam.

What are all the green spaces among the forested patches that go all the way up and down the mountains? Are they pastures?
