We echo Andrea's comments. We know well the amount of effort (and cost) involved in doing the blog, but it is much appreciated. We also know (as you have mentioned) the value of our own blogs to ourselves. Many a time I have started reading one of our own blogs, and found it fascinating, not to mention recalling things we had mostly forgotten!
5 years agoThank you so much for keeping this journal. We know very well the time, effort, and sometimes frustration involved. We learned a lot about the places you were and were insanely jealous much of the time. It’s good to be home, good to start thinking about where to next time, good to learn from where one has been. What a fantastic trip.
5 years agoI’m actually good at that, but this was different - we did the minimum necessary to fit into the bike bags. It would almost have been easier to reassemble the bikes and then disassemble in the right order.

5 years agoAh, one of the most feared functions - removing the pedals with a fairly flimsy wrench. If one does not come off - it's curtains!
5 years agoThere could almost be a forum thread for Bike Friday owners' efforts to bag their supposedly highly portable bikes. Here is Dodie and Michel Fleurance in Nantes attempting to tailor an old firewood bag into a train acceptable "housse":

Love the videos today. Amazing how much you can see on a one-day walking tour.
The GBO is quite heavy for its size .. but think of the joy it has added to your lives!
This smile is a great way to start the morning.
Thank you!
What an incredible changing of the guard performance! Thanks for the link.
Hope you had a good trip home. Yes we can say home, can't we, even if you don't live there.
Your time in Taiwan was fascinating and ended on such a good note.
Yes, it sounds like you understand. It makes our experience sound pretty tame, actually. We just whine a lot, as everyone knows by now.

What great journals. Thank you for the huge effort and diligence. We learned much. Others should be jealous of Andrea and myself for getting to see you two during your stay in Portland.
